Activities DirectoryThe local churches in Camberley are serious about building better relationships, and helping others to do so. To equip us with this task Churches Together in Camberley have commissioned some community research.
One of the outcomes of that research is this Directory, which looks at what the churches are providing, both directly and indirectly through the use of church premises by other organisations.
It has been well said that the church is the only organisation that exists for the benefit of those who are not its members. So as you read this directory, you will notice that very many of the church-run activities listed can be of benefit to those who do not necessarily count themselves as church members. They are open to anyone who would like to participate.
This is because of a belief, deeply rooted in the Christian faith that the church should try to care for all those in need, and help equip those who want to live better lives, irrespective of faith or background.
Although the listed activities are extensive, this list is not exhaustive. It necessarily excludes all routine activities which all the Camberley local churches do on a day to day basis; funerals, baptisms, marriages etc. The most important omission is the frequent, spontaneous one to one encounters between churches and people. There is always time and opportunity for individuals to give and receive support, especially in times of need.
This Directory is designed to be a tool for you to use, not merely a document to read or store! I hope you find our directory to be of help. We plan to update the information regularly.
